The architect for this house from 1938 was one of the well known Swedish “funkis” (functionalism) architects, Albin Stark. He created around 30 houses in the city centre of Stockholm with the characteristic of being designed based on their purpose and function. This apartment at the 2nd floor was originally a one bedroom but the previous owner had converted the kitchen into an extra bedroom and moved the kitchen out to the relatively large hallway.
The apartment had enough of storage and the only areas in need of renovation was the walls and the floor. The colour palette chosen for the apartment was mainly towards beige, mustard, burgundy and green which created a nice mid century feel together with some of the furnitures from the same time epok. Additional furnitures and lights were mainly purchased from Nordic designers. The children room was kept in slightly lighter colours.
